the Grass Roots team has been a beneficial addition to their neighborhood and the community. When they received their state license they were not opposed by one single neighbor or city official, three years later they can proudly say zero complaints. Recently the staff at Grass Roots got to celebrate their third birthday, and it’s been three years well spent, every visit that Oaksterdam News has taken to Grass Roots every passing year has gotten progressively better and better. When Oaksterdam News first met with Grass Roots their selection was limited and they had just opened their doors but, they have evolved into a patient collective that gives back to their city and it’s patients. Now offering everything any one could want or need from medicinal cannabis. You

enter a bright wide open space with a antique cabinet used to house the clones, couches run along a large window that faces the street so patients can look out at the neighborhood while

From amazing flowers, to their beautiful kief, hash and edible mania, you can always plan on leaving a happy camper when you take a trip to Grass Roots. And the prices are unbelievable eighths range from twenty dollars

to fifty four dollars max. And they offer nothing but mind
blowing medicine, Flat Top Purple, Blue Lightning, Jack Pot, Ingrid, Snow Jack, and White Widow. And for the hashes Grape Ape, Train-wreck, Blue Lightning( which is one of the personal favorites of the staff ). Mendo Purple kief, Monkey Wrench, and Purple Yoda, the list goes on and on. Grass Roots has many alternatives for the patients who cannot smoke or vaporize their medication, instead they have many different choices of medicated edibles and drinks such as, Moo Cow cookies, s’mores, truffles, brownies, Greenies, olive oil, banana bread, chocolate milk, and again too much to list.

The Grass Roots team is not just offering support to the medical marijuana community but the neighbors of their corridor and surrounding streets as well. Grass Roots is one of the largest sponsors of the Special Patrol Unit of San Francisco’s Police Department which make their visit to grassRoots_4.jpgthe Grass Roots shop daily. They have also been working with neighboring businesses to raise money for a street sweeping fund which will not be in the cities budget for next year, so they stepped up to the plate for their street’s future beautification and upkeep. They have also started a clothes drive for returning war veterans, this past year the sponsored several participants in the National AIDS walk. And every year they decorate their street and neighborhood with christmas lights and wreathes to bring a sense of community and city beautification.

Their personality shows through their dispensary, and community support, the patients are the ones who enable good people like the staff at Grass Roots to be able to provide quality medicine at a fraction of the cost. If patients continue to support dispensaries like Grass Roots that are open for the right reasons the industry could transform. There is nothing but great things in the future for Grass Roots, because they are a simply goods guys trying to do a good thing.
