La Brea Collective also known as LBC is located right smack in the middle of L.A. 1.5 blocks south of Wilshire on La Brea. Just minutes from Hollywood, Downtown, South L.A., and The West Side, LBC attracts a wide range of different people who all come for the same reason: For legal and safe access to a wide variety of high quality medicine. I arrived at LBC, undercover, meaning I didn't identify myself as an Oaksterdam News Reporter. On occasion, I find it necessary not to do so in order to achieve a real Patient experience, sometimes I notice folks will treat me like a rock star all while I'm sitting there wondering if all their patients get the same treatment.

I knew right away these guys were sincere in going out of their way to make me feel comfortable and right at home. I asked question after question about their strains, edibles, concentrates attempting to frustrate the poor guy behind the counter. Didn't happen, that's when I finally told the guys who I was. The moment was followed by about 3 seconds of silence, then the manager said to me, "You know, that's what I'm talking about, "keeping it real." So what would you have done if we were rude and cold? I replied, "Simple, you get a refund and I walk out the door. As far as a review, as I only write honest, positive reviews, you guys would be put on our banned list. You see, many patients read our reviews and may visit a collective based on what they have read, the last thing we want is for them is to feel lied to or led to a 'wack" collective. That would damage the integrity of both The Collective and us."
After deciding on what strain to sample, OG Kush, we rolled up a nice fat medical marijuana cigarette we puffed as I received a tour of what's to come in the near future. Upstairs they have a huge lounge with future hopes of bringing in a pool table and maybe even a cafe. Hats off to the La Brea Collective for keeping it real and compassionate, after all actions speak louder than words. Compassion and Quality shouldn't stop or be limited to said descriptive words found in the name of a collective. But don't just take my word for it. Go and discover how accurate I am for yourself. Just remember: tell them Oaksterdam News sent you. And tell them Jaime says hi. Thanks for having me over you guys. We'll be sure to stop by next time we're down.
