PATIENTS & CAREGIVERS LOS ANGELES (PCLA) — “To provide a safe and tasteful healing environment and superior medication at affordable prices.”

On May 14, 2007 the Playboy Mansion was the setting for the Marijuana Policy Projects second party at the famed estate. Attended by more than 500 supporters MPP was able to raise over $150,000 towards their goal of reforming marijuana laws.
Bill Maher of HBO fame received the Public Face of Reform Award from MPP’s Executive Director Rob Kampia atop the famed grotto, being joined by host Joe Rogan of Fear Factor. Joe is also a very funny stand up comedian who delivered a great set from the top of the grotto. He was later followed by the band Blues Traveler who entertained the crowd with some of their hit singles.
I spotted quite a few celebrities in attendance including Adam Carolla from ‘The Man Show’, Christopher "Kid" Reid, "Miami Ink" tattoo artist Kat Von D, Adrianne Curry and Christopher Knight from VH1’s ‘My Fair Brady’, actors Grant Show, Cedric Yarbrough, Jeff Dowd and many more. I even saw some guys from the band Asleep at the Wheel as well as MMJ patient and advocate Angel Raich. I also saw Men’s Warehouse CEO George Zimmer, I guarantee it.
Guests were confined to the expanse of the grounds, pool area, grotto and zoo and not allowed to go into the mansion itself. I also took a tour of the grounds and the game room with a Playmate named Julie who was very gracious as a tour guide answering all of our questions.

MPP held an auction as part of the evenings benefit with attendees bidding on various pieces of art as well as dinner and lessons from the reigning World Series of Poker Champion Jamie Gold. Topping off the evenings entertainment were fire dancers and music and dancing by DJ pooh.
All I can say after having attended this event is that I will be back next year. I had a great time while supporting one of my favorite causes and at the same time fulfilling a childhood dream.
I think every boy who sees it wants to visit the Playboy Mansion and now I have. My children are twins, one boy and one girl, 17 years old and they both wanted to attend as well. Sorry kids, must be 21.
After having attended the party and getting to see the mansion for myself It not only lives up to its awesome reputation, it was a fitting place to hold a fundraiser for the legalization of marijuana. I commend MPP and Playboy for joining forces for such a noble cause.
